bhāvāveśe svarūpe kahena gadgada-vāṇī
’karṇa tṛṣṇāya mare, paḍa rasāyana, śuni’


SYNONYMS

bhāva-āveśe—in great ecstasy; svarūpe—to Svarūpa Dāmodara; kahena—says; gadgada-vāṇī—in a faltering voice; karṇa—the ears; tṛṣṇāya—because of thirst; mare—dies; paḍa—recite; rasa-āyana—something relishable; śuni—let Me hear.


TRANSLATION

In great ecstasy, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu said to Svarūpa Dāmodara in a faltering voice, “My ears are dying of thirst. Please recite something to quench this thirst. Let Me hear it.”
