My Dear Jayadvaita,
Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 6th July, 1970, and noted the contents.
Regarding the missing translation, it is as follows:
First Canto, Chapter 3, verse 6, Translation
"So in the beginning of the creation, first of all there were the four unmarried sons of Brahma (Kumaras) and they underwent severe austerities being situated in avowed celibacy for realization of the Absolute Truth."
Regarding your second point, all incarnations should be proper nouns and therefore capitalized. It does not matter whether they are Visnu-tattva or jiva-tattva, saktavesh-avatar. or plenary expansion. The incarnations listed however may be classified as follows: Visnu-tattva: Kapila, Nara Narayana, Rama, Balarama, Krsna, the Purusas, the Boar, Yajna, Risava, Matsya, Kurma, Dhanantari, Mohini and Kalki. Jiva tattva (empowered): Narada, Vyasa, Buddha, Kumaras, Dattatreya, Prthu and Bhrgupati.
Hope this will meet you in good health.
Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
