My dear Alanath Prabhu,

Please accept my obeisances. I have been instructed by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada to reply your letter dated 3rd April, 1977. The printing of the Portuguese Srimad-Bhagavatam is coming along very nicely and Srila Prabhupada is very pleased with it. When His Divine Grace heard that you were attempting to double the book distribution in Brazil, He said, “This will give me substantial life.”

These brainwashing incidences are giving our society more and more popularity as people are seeing that actually we are bona-fide and the deprogrammers are not. The court decision in New York is very prestigious and has given us solid footing in America. Prabhupada advised in regards to the New York court case that we are in no hurry to finish the case, but advised the president Adi Kesava Swami to drag the case on for fourteen years in which time he should read every one of Prabhupada’s books out loud in the courtroom, thus proving that we are a bona-fide religion. So if you get any opportunity to go to court, try to read Prabhupada’s books out loud as evidence of our bona-fideness. In New York there were so many evidences presented from established authorities worldwide certifying the Hare Krsna movement as bona-fide. You can write to the president Adi Kesava Swami in New York for copies of all of these evidences for your fighting the cases in Brazil. If we maintain our standard of following strictly the regulative principles, chanting always Hare Krsna, many such persons as the television lady will join us.

It is good news to know that one Ph.D. in philosophy and physics has surrendered. Train him nicely in the philosophy of Krsna consciousness and eventually if he likes he can join the party of Svarupa Damodar and the other scientists for preaching to other learned persons throughout the world. Srila Prabhupada has been seriously ill but is getting some small relief from the naturopath treatments of one Gaudiya Vaisnava brahmacari, who is relying mostly on massaging treatments, not on medicines. Please have all the devotees there pray fervently for Srila Prabhupada’s recovery. Hoping this meets you well.
