My dear Bhurijana Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I have been instructed by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada to thank you for your letter dated June 22nd, 1977. Srila Prabhupada is very pleased to get all of the nice offerings from the Gurukula boys, as well as the beautiful puppets done by your wife. I read the various letters to Srila Prabhupada and he could at once understand how the boys were making advancement. Prabhupada commented that both you and your wife are very intelligent and are perfectly qualified to be teachers of these young students. He said that this was the perfect engagement for you. I mentioned to Prabhupada that you had desired more time for chanting and reading. Srila Prabhupada said that studying means to attend morning and evening class. As far as chanting one should chant minimum of 16 rounds and if there is extra time after finishing his service, he may chant. I also mentioned to Srila Prabhupada that you felt that you were not becoming purified in your mind enough, and Prabhupada replied that you should simply continue with your service and that gradually Krsna consciousness will become effective. There is no reason why you cannot take advice from your God-brothers. If they repeat the words of Srila Prabhupada then it is as good as hearing from Srila Prabhupada. On our own we have no intelligence, but by the grace of our spiritual master we can be blessed with this Krsna consciousness. Therefore if there are any questions you have, I would be glad if you wrote to me and I would try my best to answer them.

Regarding training the boys, Prabhupada’s desire is that all the Gurukula boys be trained as ideal Vaisnavas and stalwart preachers. This you have already understood, so simply go on as you have been doing all along there, and no doubt your Gurukula will produce many wonderful Vaisnavas. Srila Prabhupada was also very thankful to you for your kind donation.

Hoping this finds you and your wife as well as all the boys in Gurukula and all of the devotees at New Varshana well and Krsna consciousness [SIC]. Please offer my obeisances to Paramananda, Vamanadeva, Gaura Hari and all the other devotees there.
