770607 - Letter to Mahamsa from Tamal Krsna

Dear Mahamsa Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your feet. Srila Prabhupada has just received your telegram about prasadam distribution. His Divine Grace commented; “That is good. Now he is taking seriously the idea. Produce food and distribute profusely. This is the main reason we are investing money.”

Regarding the increased amount of the stamps duty, my opinion is that you should go ahead and pay the Rs. 15,000. There is no doubt if you fight it in court you could get the amount reduced, but this could delay on and on for many many months, and it has already caused Srila Prabhupada enough anxiety. I think that the extra amount of money you will have to pay is worth minimizing the anxiety that Srila Prabhupada is in on account of this matter not being settled. Dr. Ghose is here now and his treatments along with the massaging of one brahmacari from the Mathura Gaudiya Math is having a very revitalizing effect on His Divine Grace. Srila Prabhupada is beginning to eat a little bit better and his health seems to be coming around. Please pray to Krsna along with all the other devotees there for his speedy recovery.
