Dear Harikesa Prabhu:
Please accept my humble obeisances. I am in due receipt of your letters dated September 22, and October 2, 1974 and have noted the contents. Regarding Alan and Mary being initiated, Bhavananda Maharaj will not recommend them for initiation. At most he will say they stayed here a period of time, I think it was six weeks. When they first came to Vrindaban, they requested initiation from Bhagavandas the very first thing. What I think is that they should wait another three months. As they will stay in Vrindaban, they can be recommended by you in January. But they should stay in one place for some time and satisfy the President there. That is the process for being recommended.
Regarding Nathdwara program, Prabhupada is writing a thank you letter to the chief acharya there. I have written to Giriraj asking about the collection which was supposed to come to Vrindaban. Srila Prabhupada has also written to Tejiyas about maintenance money for Vrindaban. Tejiyas has just written me that he has sent you Rs. 5000/-.
Why did Gurudas leave without informing Srila Prabhupada? What about the money they collected for the Deities? What about all of the stuff they ordered? Do you have a list of what it all is and how much is to be paid and what the exact purchase price agreed upon was? When are they supposed to come back? It seems very curious. We heard they are now in Rome. Please write if you hear from them.
Regarding visas, Saurabha was there with the D.M. and Bhagavandas. He will recommend all cases. He was to write one letter on our behalf, and if required you can approach the Central Government in Delhi with that letter.
I hope this meets you in good health.
Your servant,
Brahmananda Swami
Personal Secretary
N.B. Srila Prabhupada wants you to be informed that now that Tejiyas has sent you money, do not waste it or spend unnecessarily. All unnecessary expenditures should be restricted. -/bs
