Dear Rameswara,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! The enclosed letter by Arjuna das was received here addressed to Srila Prabhupada. When I read him about the activities of this sankirtana party by Bahulasva, his first reply was, “Is this independent?” I don’t know what to make of it myself. He says the party was just formed in L.A. but he, Arjuna, was writing from Hawaii and said Bahulasva had just gone to S.F. There is no mention of distributing books on this party. They describe they are studying the books full time and going out to defeat the rascal scientists false yogis. What is their actual program? Hridayananda Maharaja who is a qualified sannyasi, once proposed to Srila Prabhupada that he (Hrid) go and challenge every big intellectual in the country for debate. Srila Prabhupada said no, that is not our system, to give them so much attention. When there is occasion where we are challenged we can fight them but not going around challenging everybody. What are they actually doing? Please discuss this with Jai tirtha and give us a clear picture of it. All parties have to be sanctioned by a sannyasi or GBC or temple president.

Srila Prabhupada is very concerned that he is not getting replies from either Jai tirtha prabhu or the Union Bank, L.A. concerning whether they are sending the interest on the certified deposit. On March 15, Srila Prabhupada wrote Jai tirtha full directions to find out if the remitting of the money from L.A. to Vrindaban Punjab National Bank, for the monthly interest on Mayapur Vrindaban Trust—if it could be speeded up. On March 24 a letter was sent to the Union Bank on the same matter. Then I received a letter from Jai tirtha dated March 20 which gave advice from the bank on the interest figured out to March 11, but no answer to Srila Prabhupada’s inquiries in the March 15 letter. I sent another copy of the letter on March 31st, still no answer. So His Divine Grace is several times daily wondering when he will hear from Jai tirtha on this matter and when it will be fixed up that the money is regularly and speedily remitted each month from L.A. to Vrindaban. It is of great concern to Srila Prabhupada so please do the needful and understand the need for speedy, continual correspondence on pending matters.

We received one complaining letter from Yasodananda Swami that you were envious of his parties and told brahmacharies not to join them. But when Srila Prabhupada heard in your monthly report how you praised their Tokyo party he asked me to send that notice to the swamis and tell them, “You criticize him but he has eulogized you?” We are all agreeing Srila Prabhupada said, sometimes we just get crazy. So don’t be upset by His Divine Grace’s chastisement of yourself.

He told me to watch the BBT monthly ratings and see if the amounts are going up or down. Since the last report represents two months they are definitely going down! I will be waiting to see next months, now that all the leaders are back from India.
