671122 - Letter to Prabhus from Achyutanandana

Calcutta,

22 November, 1967

From Achyutananda

Jai Prabhus,

Thank you Madhusudan for your warm letter. The Swami is most pleased with your service and He told me to tell you. I didn’t mean to tease you by describing Nabadwip but I had to tell some one. I’ll write you all a long letter telling all about it. The Swami, Ramanuga and myself addressed the pundit community there and were successful even though when the Swami told them that we were now Brahmins some left the meeting in protest. The pundit class have been the Mayavadi philosophers since the time of Lord Chaitanya and the meeting was quite similar. The Swami told them that the reason He was successful in the states was due to the fact that He did not tell everyone that they were God and all that other rascaldom. This also got some ’ahums’ and ’kdarcsh’s’ but all in all it was a success. Preaching helps one to get fixed up the Swami says, and now that I’ve had some practise I can see that it is so. We’ve been giving lectures in many homes and one before a high court judge and now Ramanuga and myself have a preaching engagement in Kanpur. I’ll send some pictures of us with my letter in the future see if you can get it printed in BTG now that your in a position of importance on the staff. I want to have an article about Vrindaban and Nabadwip and some other holy places that I’ve seen printed, with accompanying pictures it will be very nice, I hope. Please try to find time to write again as your association is strongly felt on this end. Hare Krishna.
