tarhy eva hi śalaḥ kṛṣṇa-
prapadāhata-śīrṣakaḥ
dvidhā vidīrṇas tośalaka
ubhāv api nipetatuḥ


SYNONYMS

tarhi eva—and then; hi—indeed; śalaḥ—the wrestler Śala; kṛṣṇa—of Lord Kṛṣṇa; prapada—by the toes; āhata—struck; śīrṣakaḥ—his head; dvidhā—in two; vidīrnaḥ—torn; tośalaka—Tośala; ubhau api—both of them; nipetatuḥ—fell down.


TRANSLATION

Then Kṛṣṇa struck the wrestler Śala in the head with His toes and tore him in half. The Lord dealt with Tośala in the same way, and both wrestlers fell down dead.
