lakṣmī cāhe sei dehe kṛṣṇera saṅgama
gopikā-anugā hañā nā kaila bhajana


SYNONYMS

lakṣmī — the goddess of fortune; cāhe — wants; sei — that; dehe — in the body; kṛṣṇera saṅgama — the association of Kṛṣṇa; gopikā — of the gopīs; anugā — follower; hañā — becoming; — did not; kaila — perform; bhajana — worship.


TRANSLATION

“The goddess of fortune, Lakṣmī, wanted to enjoy Kṛṣṇa and at the same time retain her spiritual body in the form of Lakṣmī. However, she did not follow in the footsteps of the gopīs in her worship of Kṛṣṇa.
