kṛta-ghnatā haya tomāya nā kaile sammāna
ataeva tomāya āmi diba kanyā-dāna


SYNONYMS

kṛta-ghnatā — ungratefulness; haya — it is; tomāya — to you; — not; kaile — if doing; sammāna — respect; ataeva — therefore; tomāya — to you; āmi — I; diba — shall give; kanyā-dāna — my daughter as charity.


TRANSLATION

“If I did not show you any respect, I would be ungrateful. Therefore, I promise to give you my daughter in charity.”
