caḍāite caḍāite gāla phulāila
hāte dhari’ gopīnāthācārya niṣedhila


SYNONYMS

caḍāite caḍāite — slapping over and over again; gāla — the cheeks; phulāila — he made them swollen; hāte dhari’ — catching his hands; gopīnātha-ācāryaGopīnātha Ācārya; niṣedhila — forbade.


TRANSLATION

Indeed, Amogha continued slapping his face over and over until his cheeks were swollen. Finally Gopīnātha Ācārya stopped him by catching hold of his hands.
