prabhu kahe,—rāya, tumi ki kārya karile?
īśvare nā dekhi’ kene āge ethā āile?


SYNONYMS

prabhu kaheŚrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu said; rāya — My dear Rāmānanda Rāya; tumi — you; ki kārya — what; karile — have done; īśvare — the Supreme Personality of Godhead; dekhi’ — without seeing; kene — why; āge — first; ethā — here; āile — you came.


TRANSLATION

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu replied, “What have you done, My dear Rāya? Why did you not first see Lord Jagannātha and then come here? Why have you come here first?”
