gujjarī-rāgiṇī lañā sumadhura-svare
'gīta-govinda'-pada gāya jaga-mana hare


SYNONYMS

gujjarī-rāgiṇī—the gujjarī mode of singing; lañā—accompanied by; sumadhura-svare—in a very sweet voice; gīta-govinda—Gīta-govinda, by Jayadeva Gosvāmī; pada—verses; gāya—sings; jaga-mana—the mind of the entire world; hare—attracts.


TRANSLATION

She sang a gujjarī tune in a very sweet voice, and because the subject was Jayadeva Gosvāmī's Gīta-govinda, the song attracted the attention of the entire world.
