TEXT 24

utsīdeyur ime lokā
na kuryāṁ karma ced aham
saṅkarasya ca kartā syām
upahanyām imāḥ prajāḥ


SYNONYMS

utsīdeyuḥ — would fall into ruin; ime — these; lokāḥ — worlds; na kuryām — did not perform; karma — action; cet — if; aham — I; saṅkarasya — of unwanted population; ca — and; kartā — the creator; syām — would become; upahanyām — would spoil; imāḥ — these; prajāḥ — living entities.


TRANSLATION

“‘If I did not show the proper principles of religion, all these worlds would fall into ruin. I would be the cause of unwanted population and would spoil all these living beings.’
