26th May, 1977

From: Tamal Krishna

Dear Laxminatha Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I beg to thank you for your letter dated 29th April, 1977.

You have asked if there is any service that you can render to me. It is simply this: That you become steady in your Krsna consciousness. Krsna has given you so many natural abilities and there will be so much joy to yourself and others and if you simply engage them now in Krsna’s service. It does not matter if you are able to go out on full time book distribution; as you are experiencing there are so many other services which can be done. But the most important thing is that you become steady. This begins with sincerely hearing and chanting early in the morning and following the regulated morning schedule. If you can do this, follow a four or five hour morning schedule very faithfully, that will automatically make you steady.

I hope this meets you and all the other devotees in ISKCON Berkeley in good health and Krsna consciousness.

Your servant,

Tamal Krsna Gosvami

PS Srila Prabhupada’s health has deteriorated, and he is now staying in Vrndavana. There are so many devotees here who are chanting and reading Srimad-Bhagavatam in front of him. Kindly pray for His Divine Grace’s recovery.
