From: Pusta Krsna

My dear Adarsi prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated May 18, 1976, and I am answering this on behalf of Srila Prabhupada. First, of course we do not want to burden Srila Prabhupada with unnecessary management, so this should be taken up with the local G.B.C. Actually, the G.B.C. must sanction the opening of any new temples and although one may be very eager to take on such engagement, it may not always be practical as the G.B.C. has a “Total” vision of the yatra, and he generally can see that a particular man can be better engaged in some other project when circumstances warrant it. I know for a fact that you are a very nice devotee, and a preacher is naturally very rare even amongst devotees. So I offer you all respect at your feet, however, it may be necessary to work cooperatively in getting the New York Temple into smooth operation. It is a very great and important project, and all the good men that can be gotten will be needed especially in these early stages to make the New York Temple what it should be. The most important temple in the most important city of the world. I hope that you will consult with Tamal Krsna Goswami as he is presently overseeing the New York project, and if necessary you can write some of the other G.B.C.’s, but I think that you will be best advised in these circumstances by Tamal Krsna Maharaj because he is well aware of how important a project New York is.

I hope that his meets you in good health. If you want, you can send this letter (your letter) to Tamal Krsna Goswami or another G.B.C. if you are still not satisfied with my humble reply.

Thank you for your sincere desire to preach.

Your servant,

Pusta Krsna Goswami
