771024 - Letter to Giriraj from Tamal Krsna

Dear Giriraj Prabhu,

Please accept my obeisances at your feet. I am very much missing your very nice association here and I am hoping that soon we will be able to associate together again in Mayapur.

Hari Sauri Prabhu returned the Fixed Deposit receipts. I was a little surprised to see that they had not issued new receipts, and His Divine Grace also questioned me about this. However I took it that you were satisfied with the newly endorsed old receipts, so I am also satisfied.

Also find enclosed a letter to Central Bank of India which requires your signature. And this Rs. 4 lacs will be given in the form of two loans: a) Rs. 2 lacs for printing of books in India to be paid back by BBT, Bombay, and b) Rs. 2 lacs for the purpose of a book godown [sic] to be repaid by the BBT LA by June 30th, 1978.The first loan will be paid back by the BBT Bombay by January 1st, 1979.

By now you must have realized that you have mistakenly taken the file containing the copies of the letters to Punjab National Bank regarding the transfer of the certificates (I am referring to the copies which were stamped by the bank regarding this correspondence).Please get this file to me when you next come to see Srila Prabhupada, or send it with someone who is coming.

The most important business now is to get the notarization of our signatures completed. As soon as this is done, you must send me approximately 20 copies along with the two copies notarized of the power of attorney bound together as we had discussed.

I am thinking that you should come to Mayapur to See Srila Prabhupada by about the 2nd week of November. At this time the postal receipts will come due in Calcutta and our signatures will be required for dealing with them. The other day Srila Prabhupada asked for you and I know how much He appreciates having you with Him. So please try to come for a week’s time around that time. Kindly let me know by mail confirming when you will come so I can make plans accordingly.

This past night Srila Prabhupada has given the program for a new body to be formed. He said it should be called Bhaktivedanta Swami Charity Trust or the ISKCON Charity Trust. The purpose will be for the development and cooperation in Gaura Mandala Bhumi. Srila Prabhupada said the trustees will be Jayapataka Maharaja, Bhavananda Maharaja, yourself, Svarupa Damodar, myself, Madhava Maharaja and Madhusudan Maharaja (the last two are Srila Prabhupada’s God-brothers). Srila Prabhupada said, “No more non-cooperation. Now everyone cooperate to spread Lord Caitanya’s movement. Just like Sridhar Maharaja (His God-brother) is having trouble finishing his Nath mandir. So in that way cooperate. We have Fixed Deposits in India, so the interest may be utilized for the Trust, but do not touch the principle.” I will discuss this more with you when I see you in Mayapur.
