770628 - Letter to Sridhar from Tamal Krsna

My dear Sridhar Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I beg to acknowledge [receipt] of your postcard undated.

By now Visvambhar Prabhu and Gunarnava Prabhu must have reached Hyderbad and given you a full report by Srila Prabhupada. The best way to keep in touch with Srila Prabhupada’s condition and schedule is to send a regular report. In the reply I will always be sure to give you a report about His Divine Grace. Srila Prabhupada is going everyday to the temple from 9:30 to 10 for darshan of Krsna Balarama. He still cannot walk around or get up without someone’s constant help. He has no appetite but is eating a little everyday. In general His health is maintaining and perhaps slightly improving. But His translation work is increasing, and sometimes He translates twice a day. As far as His schedule, He has not indicated any plans for leaving Vrndavana for the time being. Regarding getting men and money, your sister zone of South America should help in both of these accounts. I have seen in the newsletter that they are promised to give $3000 a month which it seems to me is substantial help in finishing the construction.

The work you are doing as president, temple commander, preacher, treasurer and sometimes cleaning the bathroom will definitely gain you the mercy of Srila Prabhupada, even if you cannot realize this at this time. If you stick to it and manage that temple, there is no doubt that Krsna will give you all facilities you want for preaching both here in India and even abroad. You may not see how this is possible but Krsna can do anything, and when a devotee surrenders unto Him, by trying to satisfy His representative, the spiritual master, Krsna fulfills all the desires of His devotee, especially when they are for preaching in His service. This you should have full faith in. And there is no doubt that by relieving Srila Prabhupada and seeing that this important temple is nicely maintained with a high standard of Krsna consciousness as it was intended to be, Srila Prabhupada will fell very much indebted to you. So I think that this was the most fortunate turn of events that you got this position in Hyderbad, even if it does not seem so at this time. It has given you a very responsible service, one which Srila Prabhupada has often worried about someone filling. Be enthusiastic Maharaja; this life is meant for serving the spiritual master and Krsna. I hope this meets you well.
