770609 - Letter to Mahavirya from Tamal Krsna

My dear Mahavirya Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. Brahmananda Swami has informed me that you never received Srila Prabhupada’s reply to your letter last March. The letter was sent and the copy of the letter is in Bombay. In essence Prabhupada could understand that you were feeling a little difficulty in remaining there in Africa. However you are a very good preacher and the Africans are responding to your preaching. They have good respect for you. So therefore Prabhupada felt it would be best for you to remain. Of course if you would like to come to India and visit that is alright, and Brahmananda Swami has said that he will bring you here with him for the next Mayapur festival of 1978.This is the purpose of our Mayapur festival for all the preachers to come and take darshan of the holy dhama and become rejuvenated. Srila Prabhupada gave instructions to Brahmananda Swami that the African preaching program was very important and you are a very important man there. Brahmananda Swami said that he discussed your going back to America with other GBC’s such as Rameswara Swami, but it was Rameswara Swami’s opinion that now that new men are coming to Africa, that you would become enthused, and as you are an old veteran, you would be able to teach them how to preach there. So your presence is very much required. This is the considered opinion of all the GBC’s. Jayatirtha Prabhu will be coming there shortly and you can discuss further with him.
