Dear Shri Gupta:
In regards to your letter of 12 July, 1974 to His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada sent to ISKCON, 3764 Watseka Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90034, USA, you state therein that you have not received any remittances from the Union Bank, Los Angeles. I would like to call to your attention, however, our meeting of 5th July 1974 in Vrindaban when you gave me the following information of foreign remittances: A/C Number Date of Credit Rec’d from Amount in Amount in to Account U.S. dollars Rupees
______________________ _____________ _____________ ____________
6112 15 June, 1974 Union Bank appr. $2616.68 Rs. 20,148/=
6112 21 June, 1974 Union Bank appr. $680.00 Rs. 5,250/=
668 21 June, 1974 Bank of America appr. $1,300. Rs. 10,003/=
(Robert Searight)
Furthermore, you showed me a notice informing you of a remittance not yet received from Union Bank via First National City Bank of New York for exactly $1914.05. At that time you said you expected the amount to arrive shortly in Vrindaban from your Delhi office.
For all the above mentioned remittances, you handed over to me receipts and you further confirmed receipt of these monies in the Statement of Accounts which you also provided to us the following day. I cannot understand therefore, why you have replied to His Divine Grace that you have received no remittances. I think you have overlooked the above remittances which were indeed, the very ones His Divine Grace was inquiring about.
His Divine Grace is coming to Vrindaban next week so everything can be cleared up at that time.
Thanking you for your attention to this matter.
Yours in the service of Lord Krishna,
Karandhar das Adhikary
