Dear _____________ prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

As your humble representative, I am serving this month as Srila Prabhupada’s secretary, now in Mayapur. Thank you very much for cooperating with Mohanananda in sending me here by plane.

I was thinking “how can we develop the central U.S. zone?” and was a little envious how Rupanuga Maharaja has found new pioneering territory in his zone in Puerto Rico, whereas our zone is crossed and re-crossed by many a travelling party. So this morning I asked His Divine Grace “How should I develop the central U.S. zone?” He replied, “Send travelling sankirtan parties through the zone.” I asked if we should open new centers in new cities and he plainly said “No. Send travelling sankirtan party.” I then remarked that a letter had been sent advising us to send a party of two men to live in small towns and worship Gour Nitai. His Divine Grace replied, “But where are such two expert men? That was a proposal but unless the men are very expert they will not be able to do anything. It takes a very advanced expert devotee. I am one but I opened a hundred centers.” I admitted that we do not have enough expert men in our present centers. So the purport is, let us maintain and uplift all phases of Krsna Consciousness life in our present 8 central U.S. centers and let us push on with travelling parties. In addition to each temple’s own attempts I was thinking of a nice party which could specialize in nice performance of kirtan as well as book distribution, going to colleges, cities, everywhere—with men from different centers. Where is such a strong kirtan leader? We can discuss this further.

Also, Prabhupada is very serious about the zonal reports every two weeks. He really wants them and is holding GBC accountable for knowledge of the zone based on these reports. So please at once send me a report to Mayapur.

Eager to rejoin you there and share with you whatever I may learn from Srila Prabhupada who is the purest and greatest devotee in the world with no one even close to his stature. Prabhupada: “The only way to spread this movement is to profusely distribute my books.”
