My dear Gerald:
Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 19th February. I am very glad to hear of your attraction for Krsna consciousness and of your willingness to serve. You are writing to be initiated by me, but initiations are performed on the recommendation of a Temple president. Now you are presently situated near two of our centers, in Washington and Baltimore. I suggest that you contact the president of our Washington center, Damodar das Adhikary, 2015 “Q” Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. for some good advice in the matter of the Army. Certainly you should be able to visit our center there, and thus satisfy your great desire to associate with devotees.
In the meantime, chant Hare Krsna and read our books. Lord Krsna is within your heart and He knows your intentions. Just remain sincere and surely He will remove any impediments you are now feeling. As you stick to the principles and make advancement you will find all so-called impediments will gradually vanish. I hope this meets you in good health and spirits.
Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
