ete na hy adbhutā vyādha
tavāhiṁsādayo guṇāḥ
hari-bhaktau pravṛttā ye
na te syuḥ para-tāpinaḥ


SYNONYMS

ete—all these; na—not; hi—certainly; adbhutāḥ—wonderful; vyādha—O hunter; tava—your; ahiṁsā-ādayaḥ—nonviolence and others; guṇāḥ—qualities; hari-bhaktau—in devotional service; pravṛttāḥ—engaged; ye—those who; na—not; te—they; syuḥ—are; para-tāpinaḥ—envious of other living entities.


TRANSLATION

“‘O hunter, good qualities like nonviolence, which you have developed, are not very astonishing, for those engaged in the Lord’s devotional service are never inclined to give pain to others because of envy.’
