(Inaudible) Śrīla Prabhupāda (to devotee): What’s the name of that Professor? (Inaudible) Śrīla Prabhupāda Disciple 1: Doctor N... (inaudible) He’s the most eminent scholar in Iran. He’s received our books very well. What has he said about our books? Śrīla Prabhupāda Disciple 2: That... (inaudible) Śrīla Prabhupāda Disciple 2: ... represents the real Vedic tradition. Śrīla Prabhupāda: He’s Muslim but appreciates mantra-vidya. (Inaudible conversation) Śrīla Prabhupāda: They will accept everywhere but slowly. They will accept slowly. (Inaudible conversation) Śrīla Prabhupāda: Even in Japan. The problem is with the language. The Japanese boys are very good. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: They do not understand English? Śrīla Prabhupāda: They know but very little. They are philosophical. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: I heard in Germany... Śrīla Prabhupāda: Yes, in Germany it is big... Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: West Germany? Śrīla Prabhupāda's Disciple 2: Yes. Śrīla Prabhupāda: In Poland, Slovakia, Rome. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Disciple: Even Hungary. Śrīla Prabhupāda: Hungary... Śrīla Prabhupāda's Disciple: Hong Kong. (Inaudible conversation) Śrīla Prabhupāda: In Germany we have published Caitanya Caritāmṛta. Śrīla Prabhupāda (to his Godbrother):Have you read a page or two? Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: Yes. (Laughter) (Inaudible) Is the fourth chapter completed? Śrīla Prabhupāda: All completed. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: (inaudible) Śrīla Prabhupāda: Seventeen volumes. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: (recites an inaudible verse) I want to read that part. Śrīla Prabhupāda: It is there... Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: That part I want to read. Śrīla Prabhupāda: All complete. Seventeen volumes. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Disciple 2: Beautiful colour illustrations.Wonderful paintings inside. Śrīla Prabhupāda: Hmm... seventeen volumes. In all universities, colleges, professors... have given standing orders. Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Godbrother: You may like to give one set to Prabhupada's library. Śrīla Prabhupāda: Sure. Śrīla Prabhupāda: (Inaudible) (Laughter) Śrīla Prabhupāda and Devotees: (Chanting) (Inaudible conversation) Śrīla Prabhupāda: (inaudible) In New Vṛndāvana, we manufacture a lot of ghee. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: Ghee? Śrīla Prabhupāda: Hmm. Everyday, there is one thousand pounds of ghee. Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Godbrother: Really? Śrīla Prabhupāda: There is one thousand pounds of milk. (inadible) ... they give fifty-sixty pounds of milk, each. Śrīla Prabhupāda: Have you seen pictures of New Vṛndāvana? Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: New Vṛndāvana... how much land is there... land... how much land? Śrīla Prabhupāda: Hmm? Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: Land? Śrīla Prabhupāda: One thousand acres. Śrīla Prabhupāda Godbrother: One thousand acres? Śrīla Prabhupāda: Yes. Śrīla Prabhupād's Godbrother: Where? In New Vṛndāvana? Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: (chuckling) In New Vṛndāvana. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: One thousand acres? Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: Yes. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: (Chuckling) Was it just lying there? Śrīla Prabhupāda: There is plenty of land in America. (Inaudible background conversation) Śrīla Prabhupāda: Proper utilisation is not happening. This is what I keep saying, that there’s so much available land on this planet. If there can be proper utilisation of this land, then ten times the numbers of the existing population of this planet can be fed. (laughter) Śrīla Prabhupāda: They say there is over population. This is nonsense. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: India has too much... Śrīla Prabhupāda: Nowhere has that (overpopulation) happened. That is a foolish person's idea. (laughter) Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: Land utilisation has not happened. Śrīla Prabhupāda: We understand... eko bahūnāṁ yo vidadhāti kāmān ((Kaṭha Upaniṣad 2.2.13)). So what even if there is overpopulation, can He not feed everyone? (laughter) Śrīla Prabhupāda: All these theories are due to a God-less civilisation. (laughter) Śrīla Prabhupāda: When Mahārāja Pṛthu asked, "Why are you not giving them?" Then what did Mother Earth reply? She said, "I will not give the demons. I will not give them." Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: Yes. (laughter) Śrīla Prabhupāda: When human beings become demonic, they are going to starve to death. God-less. Otherwise, is there any dearth in Bhagavān's (God's) kingdom? It is said, eko bahūnāṁ yo vidadhāti kāmān (Kaṭha Upaniṣad 2.2.13). He is feeding everyone... overpopulation... the birds and animals, do they care about overpopulation? (Laughter) They eat as must as they need. They take care of one dozen off-spring. Does overpopulation affect them? This is foolish. The most important thing is stated in the Bhagavatam (shloka - ?) but they want to starve and kill them. (laughter) Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: This is most important. If everyone is God-centric, then there is no problem. Śrīla Prabhupāda: Yes, then there is no problem. As we have observed, one year there is an abundance of mangoes, another year there were hardly any. This is in nature's hands. God can give in abundance, even when there is an abundance of population. If someone chooses to be foolish and demonic (inaudible). yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmy aham (Bhagavad-gītā 10.10) There is no lack in Bhagavān’s kingdom. Śrīla Prabhupāda's Godbrother: The thing is... (Inaudible) (laughter) Śrīla Prabhupāda: Prabhupada has said that the only thing lacking is Hari-bhakti. Lack of Hari-kathā. (Inaudible conversation) Śrīla Prabhupāda: There's a famine of Hari-kathā (Kṛṣṇa's words). I have seen, they discard wheat into the ocean. They opine that if there is overproduction of food-grain, then the prices will go down if there is an abundance. Because prices will reduce, they throw the food-grain. (Disruption) (The End)
