kāhāṅ cāṅge caḍāñā laya dhana-prāṇa!
kāhāṅ saba chāḍi’ sei rājyādi-pradāna!
SYNONYMS
kāhāṅ—on one hand; cāṅge—on the cāṅga; caḍāñā—raising; laya—takes; dhana—wealth; prāṇa—life; kāhāṅ—on the other hand; saba—all; chāḍi’—excusing; sei—he; rājya-ādi-pradāna—awarding the same government post and so on.
TRANSLATION
Gopīnātha Paṭṭanāyaka was lifted onto the cāṅga to be killed, and all his money was taken away, but instead his debts were excused, and he was appointed collector in the same place.
