gopīnātha siṁha—eka caitanyera dāsa
akrūra bali’ prabhu yāṅre kailā parihāsa
SYNONYMS
gopīnātha siṁha—Gopīnātha Siṁha; eka—one; caitanyera dāsa—servant of Lord Caitanya; akrūra bali’—famous as Akrūra; prabhu—the Lord; yāṅre—whom; kaila—did; parihāsa—joking.
TRANSLATION
Gopīnātha Siṁha, the thirty-eighth branch of the tree, was a faithful servant of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. The Lord jokingly addressed him as Akrūra.
PURPORT
Actually he was Akrūra, as stated in text 117 of the Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā.
