prajāpater aṅgirasaḥ
svadhā patnī pitṟn atha
atharvāṅgirasaṁ vedaṁ
putratve cākarot satī
SYNONYMS
prajāpateḥ aṅgirasaḥ—of another prajāpati, known as Aṅgirā; svadhā—Svadhā; patnī—his wife; pitṟn—the Pitās; atha—thereafter; atharva-āṅgirasam—Atharvāṅgirasa; vedam—the personified Veda; putratve—as the son; ca—and; akarot—accepted; satī—Satī.
TRANSLATION
The prajāpati Aṅgirā had two wives, named Svadhā and Satī. The wife named Svadhā accepted all the Pitās as her sons, and Satī accepted the Atharvāṅgirasa Veda as her son.
