- vidyā-vinaya-sampanne
- brāhmaṇe gavi hastini
- śuni caiva śva-pāke ca
- paṇḍitāḥ sama-darśinaḥ
SYNONYMS
vidyā—knowledge; vinaya—gentleness; sampanne—endowed with; brāhmaṇe—unto a brāhmaṇa; gavi—unto a cow; hastini—unto an elephant; śuni—unto a dog; ca—and; eva—also; śva-pāke—unto a dog-eater; ca—also; paṇḍitāḥ—those who are actually learned in spiritual understanding; sama-darśinaḥ—equipoised.
TRANSLATION
“‘The humble sages, by virtue of true knowledge, see with equal vision a learned and gentle brāhmaṇa, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater.’
