utsīdeyur ime lokā
na kuryāṁ karma ced aham
saṅkarasya ca kartā syām
upahanyām imāḥ prajāḥ


SYNONYMS

utsīdeyuḥ—would fall into ruin; ime—these; lokāḥ—worlds; na kuryām—did not perform; karma—action; cet—if; aham—I; saṅkarasya—of unwanted population; ca—and; kartā—the creator; syām—would become; upahanyām—would spoil; imāḥ—these; prajāḥ—living entities.


TRANSLATION

“‘If I did not show the proper principles of religion, all these worlds would fall into ruin. I would be the cause of unwanted population and would spoil all these living beings.’
