bhakta-gaṇe prabhu nāma-mahimā kahila
śuniyā paḍuyā tāhāṅ artha-vāda kaila


SYNONYMS

bhakta-gaṇe—unto the devotees; prabhu—the Lord; nāma-mahimā—glories of the holy name; kahila—explained; śuniyā—hearing; paḍuyā—the students; tāhāṅ—there; artha-vāda—interpretation; kaila—did.


TRANSLATION

Once when the Lord explained the glories of the holy name to the devotees, some ordinary students who heard Him fashioned their own interpretation.
