- trīḻ lokān śucayo 'punan
- śirasādhatta yāḥ śarvaḥ
- svar yātāḥ sagarātmajāḥ
SYNONYMS
āpaḥ — the water (namely, the river Ganges); te — Your; aṅghri — of the feet; avanejanyaḥ — coming from the bathing; trīn — the three; lokān — worlds; śucayaḥ — being purely spiritual; apunan — has purified; śirasā — on his head; ādhatta — has taken; yāḥ — which; śarvaḥ — Lord Siva; svaḥ — to heaven; yātāḥ — went; sagara-ātmajāḥ — the sons of King Sagara.

TRANSLATION
The water of the river Ganges has purified the three worlds, having become transcendental by bathing Your feet. Lord Śiva accepted that water on his head, and by that water's grace the sons of King Sagara attained to heaven.
