- vidyā-vinaya-sampanne
- brāhmaṇe gavi hastini
- śuni caiva śva-pāke ca
- paṇḍitāḥ sama-darśinaḥ
SYNONYMS
vidyā — knowledge; vinaya — gentleness; sampanne — endowed with; brāhmaṇe — unto a brāhmaṇa; gavi — unto a cow; hastini — unto an elephant; śuni — unto a dog; ca — and; eva — also; śva-pāke — unto a dog-eater; ca — also; paṇḍitāḥ — those who are actually learned in spiritual understanding; sama-darśinaḥ — equipoised.
TRANSLATION
“‘The humble sages, by virtue of true knowledge, see with equal vision a learned and gentle brāhmaṇa, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater.’
