kṛṣṇera vacana-mādhurī, nānā-rasa-narma-dhārī,
tāra anyāya kathana nā yāya
jagatera nārīra kāṇe, mādhurī-guṇe bāndhi' ṭāne,
ṭānāṭāni kāṇera prāṇa yāya


SYNONYMS

kṛṣṇera — of Lord Kṛṣṇa; vacana-mādhurī — the sweetness of speaking; nānā — various; rasa-narma-dhārī — full of joking words; tāra — of that; anyāya — atrocities; kathana — description; yāya — cannot be made; jagatera — of the world; nārīra — of women; kāṇe — in the ear; mādhurī-guṇe — to the attributes of sweetness; bāndhi — binding; ṭāne — pulls; ṭānāṭāni — tug-of-war; kāṇera — of the ear; prāṇa yāya — the life departs.


TRANSLATION

"The sweetness of Kṛṣṇa's joking words plays indescribable havoc with the hearts of all women. His words bind a woman's ear to the qualities of their sweetness. Thus there is a tug-of-war, and the life of the ear departs.
