760515 - Letter to Tamala Krishna from Pusta Krsna

May 15, 1976

From: Pusta Krishna

Dear Tamala Krishna Maharaj,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I herewith enclose the Chinese edition of the first 6 chapters of the Bhagavad-gita As It Is, as I had mentioned I would send you a copy over the telephone. Prabhupada said that you should naturally explore the avenues of infiltrating China with these books, “by the blackmarket or the white market.” In any case, His Divine Grace said that it necessary they could be printed by Dai Nippon, who have houses in Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Jakarta. Prabhupada mentioned that even Sudama Vipra Swami in the Phillipines might be useful in distributing these Chinese literatures as well, as there are many Chinese in the Phillipines. In any case, you know what is to be done, and I can simply mentioned some of the points mentioned by Srila Prabhupada. At first, Prabhupada wanted 50,000 copies printed, but He later decided differently, and said that you should have what avenues for distribution are available.

Jai! I hope that this meets you in good spirits. I sincerely hope that this business with Madhudvisa Swami is somehow resolved. It is obviously not so cheap a thing to be a “devotee” in the true sense of the word. Vairagya vidya nija-bhakti yogam … All glories to Srila Prabhupada, the reservoir of mercy and compassion. Your unworthy servant,

Pusta Krishna Swami
