There are a number of editions of this great book of knowledge, and some of them have commentaries by the devotees, and some of them have commentaries by the demons. Commentation by the devotees is real, whereas that of the demons is useless. Arjuna accepts Śrī Kṛṣṇa as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and any commentary on the #i#Gītā#/i# following in the footsteps of Arjuna is real devotional service to the cause of this great science. The demonic, however, concoct something about Kṛṣṇa and mislead the public and general readers from the path of Kṛṣṇa's instructions. One should try to follow the disciplic succession from Arjuna, and thus be benefitted. #/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#sa evāyaṁ mayā te 'dya#/dd# #dd#yogaḥ proktaḥ purātanaḥ#/dd# #dd#bhakto 'si me sakhā ceti#/dd# #dd#rahasyaṁ hy etad uttamam#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i#saḥ#/i#—the same; #i#eva#/i#—certainly; #i#ayam#/i#—this; #i#mayā#/i#—by Me; #i#te#/i#—unto you; #i#adya#/i#—today; #i#yogaḥ#/i#—the science of #i#yoga;#/i# #i#proktaḥ#/i#—spoken; #i#purātanaḥ#/i#—very old; #i#bhaktaḥ#/i#—devotee; #i#asi#/i#—you are; #i#me#/i#—My; #i#sakhā#/i#—friend; #i#ca#/i#—also; #i#iti#/i#—therefore; #i#rahasyam#/i#—mystery; #i#hi#/i#—certainly; #i#etat#/i#—this; #i#uttamam#/i#—transcendental. #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#That very ancient science of the relationship with the Supreme is today told by Me to you because you are My devotee as well as My friend and can therefore understand the transcendental mystery of this science. #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="PURPORT"#PURPORT#/span##/h4# #div class="purport"# #p#There are two classes of men, namely the devotee and the demon. Here is a warning about such misleading paths. One should try to follow the disciplic succession from Arjuna, and thus be benefitted by this great science of #i#Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā#/i#. #/p# #/div#
