The process of restriction from sense enjoyment by rules and regulations is something like restricting a diseased person from certain types of eatables. The patient, however, neither likes such restrictions, nor loses his taste for eatables. Similarly, sense restriction by some spiritual process like #i#aṣṭāṅga-yoga#/i#, in the matter of #i#yama, niyama, āsana, prāṇāyāma#/i#, #i#pratyāhāra, dharaṇā, dhyāna#/i#, etc., is recommended for less intelligent persons who have no better knowledge. But one who has tasted the beauty of the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa, in the course of his advancement in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, no longer has a taste for dead material things. Therefore, restrictions are there for the less intelligent neophytes in the spiritual advancement of life, but such restrictions are only good if one actually has a taste for Kṛṣṇa consciousness. When one is actually Kṛṣṇa conscious, he automatically loses his taste for pale things. #/p# #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_59"#TEXT 59#/span##/h4# #div class="devanagari"# #dl##dd#विषया विनिवर्तन्ते निराहारस्य देहिनः ।#/dd# #dd#रसवर्जं रसोऽप्यस्य परं दृष्ट्वा निवर्तते ॥५९॥#/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#viṣayā vinivartante#/dd# #dd#nirāhārasya dehinaḥ#/dd# #dd#rasa-varjaṁ raso 'py asya#/dd# #dd#paraṁ dṛṣṭvā nivartate#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=viṣayāḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#viṣayāḥ#/i# — objects for sense enjoyment; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=vinivartante&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#vinivartante#/i# — are practiced to be refrained from; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=nirāhārasya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#nirāhārasya#/i# — by negative restrictions; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=dehinaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#dehinaḥ#/i# — for the embodied; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=rasa&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#rasa-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=varjam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#varjam#/i# — giving up the taste; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=rasaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#rasaḥ#/i# — sense of enjoyment; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=api&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#api#/i# — although there is; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=asya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#asya#/i# — his; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=param&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#param#/i# — far superior things; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=dṛṣṭvā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#dṛṣṭvā#/i# — by experiencing; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=nivartate&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#nivartate#/i# — he ceases from. #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#The embodied soul may be restricted from sense enjoyment, though the taste for sense objects remains.
