He has also explained the process of knowing the knower of the field of activities. Now He is explaining the knowable, both the soul and the Supersoul respectively. By knowledge of the knower, both the soul and the Supersoul, one can relish the nectar of life. As explained in the Second Chapter, the living entity is eternal. This is also confirmed here. There is no specific date at which the #i#jīva#/i# was born. Nor can anyone trace out the history of #i#jīvātmā's#/i# manifestation from the Supreme Lord. Therefore it is beginningless. The Vedic literature confirms this: #i#na jāyate mṛjayate vā vipaścit#/i#. The knower of the body is never born and never dies, and he is full of knowledge. The Supreme Lord is also stated in the Vedic literature as #i#pradhāna-kṣetrajña-patir guṇeśaḥ#/i#. The Supreme Lord as the Supersoul is the chief knower of the body, and He is the master of the three modes of material nature. In the #i#smṛti#/i# it is said: #i#dāsa-bhūto harer eva nānyasvaiva kadācana#/i#. The living entities are eternally in the service of the Supreme Lord. This is also confirmed by Lord Caitanya in His teaching; therefore the description of Brahman mentioned in this verse is in relation to the individual soul, and when the word Brahman is applied to the living entity, it is to be understood that he is #i#vijñānaṁ brahma#/i# as opposed to #i#ananta-brahma. Ananta-brahma#/i# is the Supreme Brahman Personality of Godhead. #/p# #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_13"#TEXT 13#/span##/h4# #div class="devanagari"# #dl##dd#ज्ञेयं यत्तत्प्रवक्ष्यामि यज्ज्ञात्वामृतमश्नुते ।#/dd# #dd#अनादिमत्परं ब्रह्म न सत्तन्नासदुच्यते ॥१३॥#/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#jñeyaṁ yat tat pravakṣyāmi#/dd# #dd#yaj jñātvāmṛtam aśnute#/dd# #dd#anādi mat-paraṁ brahma#/dd# #dd#na sat tan nāsad ucyate#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=jñeyam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#jñeyam#/i# — the knowable; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yat#/i# — which; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=tat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#tat#/i# — that; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=pravakṣyāmi&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#pravakṣyāmi#/i# — I shall now explain; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yat#/i# — which; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=jñātvā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#jñātvā#/i# — knowing; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=amṛtam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#amṛtam#/i# — nectar; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=aśnute&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#aśnute#/i# — one tastes; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=anādi&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#anādi#/i# — beginningless; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mat-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=param&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#param#/i# — subordinate to Me; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=brahma&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#brahma#/i# — spirit; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=na&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#na#/i# — neither; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sat#/i# — cause; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=tat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#tat#/i# — that; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=na&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#na#/i# — nor; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=asat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#asat#/i# — effect; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=ucyate&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#ucyate#/i# — is said to be. #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#I shall now explain the knowable, knowing which you will taste the eternal.
