As a very rich man has no hankerings for small petty things so also a devotee of Lord Krishna who is guaranteed to pass on to the kingdom of God where life is eternal, fully cognisant and blissful,—has naturally no hankerings for petty material things which are dolls like shadow of the reality without any permanent value. That is the sign of spiritually enriched persons. And in due course of time when a pure devotee is completely prepared all of a sudden the change of body occurs which is commonly called death. And for the pure devotee such change takes place exactly like the lightening and illumination follows simultaneously. That is to say a devotee simultaneously changes his material body and developes a spiritual body by the Will of the Supreme. Even before death a pure devotee has no material affection on account of his body being spiritualised like the red hot iron acts like fire in contact with fire. #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"##p class="mw-empty-elt"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_27"#TEXT 27#/span##/h4# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#evaṁ kṛṣṇa-mater brahman#/dd# #dd#nāsaktasyāmalātmanaḥ#/dd# #dd#kālaḥ prādurabhūt kāle#/dd# #dd#taḍit saudāmanī yathā#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=evam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#evam#/i# — thus; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kṛṣṇa&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kṛṣṇa-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mateḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mateḥ#/i# — one who is fully absorbed in thinking of Kṛṣṇa; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=brahman&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#brahman#/i# — O Vyāsadeva; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=na&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#na#/i# — not; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=āsaktasya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#āsaktasya#/i# — of one who is attached; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=amala&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#amala-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=ātmanaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#ātmanaḥ#/i# — of one who is completely free from all material dirt; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kālaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kālaḥ#/i# — death; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=prādurabhūt&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#prādurabhūt#/i# — become visible; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kāle&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kāle#/i# — in the course of time; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=taḍit&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#taḍit#/i# — lightning; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=saudāmanī&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#saudāmanī#/i# — illuminating; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yathā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yathā#/i# — as it is. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# And so, O Brāhmaṇa Vyāsadeva, in due course of time I, who was fully absorbed in thinking of Kṛṣṇa and who therefore had no attachments, being completely freed from all material taints, met with death, as lightning and illumination occur simultaneously. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="PURPORT"#PURPORT#/span##/h4# #div class="purport"# To be fully absorbed in the thought of Kṛṣṇa means clearance of material dirts or hankerings.
