He is not accustomed to stay at any householder's residence for more than half an hour at the time of milking the cow just to take alms from such fortunate householder. That was also for the purpose of sanctifying the residence by His auspicious presence. Therefore Sukdev Goswami is an ideal preacher and established in the transcendental position. From His activities those, who are in the renounced order of life and dedicated to the mission of preaching the message of Godhead, should learn that such persons have no business with the householders save and except to enlighten them in transcendental knowledge. Such missionary's asking for alms from the householder should be for the purpose of sanctifying the place. One who is in the renounced order of life may not be allured by the glamour of the householder's worldy possessions and thus become subservient of such a worldly man. This degraded position of one, who is in the renounced order of life, is much more dangerous than drinking poison and commit suicide. #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"##p class="mw-empty-elt"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_8"#TEXT 8#/span##/h4# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#sa go-dohana-mātraṁ hi#/dd# #dd#gṛheṣu gṛha-medhinām#/dd# #dd#avekṣate mahā-bhāgas#/dd# #dd#tīrthī-kurvaṁs tad āśramam#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=saḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#saḥ#/i# — he (Śukadeva Gosvāmī); #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=go&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#go-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=dohana&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#dohana-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mātram&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mātram#/i# — only for the time of milking the cow; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=hi&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#hi#/i# — certainly; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=gṛheṣu&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#gṛheṣu#/i# — in the house; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=gṛha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#gṛha-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=medhinām&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#medhinām#/i# — of the householders; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=avekṣate&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#avekṣate#/i# — waits; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mahā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mahā-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=bhāgaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#bhāgaḥ#/i# — the most fortunate; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=tīrthī&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#tīrthī#/i# — pilgrimage; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kurvan&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kurvan#/i# — transforming; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=tat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#tat #a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=āśramam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#āśramam#/i# — the residence. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# He [Śukadeva Gosvāmī] was accustomed to stay at the door of a householder only long enough for a cow to be milked.
