The scriptural injunction is that one should humbly approach a spiritual master for understanding the transcendental science. Maharaj Parikshit was now prepared for meeting his death and within a very short time of seven days he was to know the process of entering the kingdom of God. In such important cases only one is required to approach a spiritual master. There is no necessity of approaching a spiritual master unless one is not in need of solving the problems of life. One who does not know how to put questions before the spiritual master has no business to go there. And the qualification of the spiritual master is perfectly manifested in the person of Sukdeva Goswami. Both the spiritual master and the disciple namely Sri Sukdeva Goswami and Maharaj Parikshit attained perfection through the medium of Srimad Bhagwatam. Sukdeva Goswami learnt Srimad Bhagwatam from his father Vyasdeva but he had no chance to recite it. Before Maharaj Parikshit he recited Srimad Bhagwatam and answered the questions of Maharaj Pasikshit unhesitatingly from Srimad Bhagwatam and thus both the master and the disciple got salvation. #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"##p class="mw-empty-elt"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_31"#TEXT 31#/span##/h4# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#praśāntam āsīnam akuṇṭha-medhasaṁ#/dd# #dd#muniṁ nṛpo bhāgavato 'bhyupetya#/dd# #dd#praṇamya mūrdhnāvahitaḥ kṛtāñjalir#/dd# #dd#natvā girā sūnṛtayānvapṛcchat#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=praśāntam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#praśāntam#/i# — perfectly pacified; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=āsīnam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#āsīnam#/i# — sitting; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=akuṇṭha&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#akuṇṭha#/i# — without hesitation; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=medhasam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#medhasam#/i# — one who has sufficient intelligence; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=munim&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#munim#/i# — unto the great sage; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=nṛpaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#nṛpaḥ#/i# — the King (Mahārāja Parīkṣit); #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=bhāgavataḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#bhāgavataḥ#/i# — the great devotee; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=abhyupetya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#abhyupetya#/i# — approaching him; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=praṇamya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#praṇamya#/i# — bowing down; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=mūrdhnā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#mūrdhnā#/i# — his head; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=avahitaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#avahitaḥ#/i# — properly; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kṛta&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kṛta-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=añjaliḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#añjaliḥ#/i# — with folded hands; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=natvā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#natvā#/i# — politely; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=girā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#girā#/i# — by words; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sūnṛtayā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sūnṛtayā#/i# — in sweet voices; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=anvapṛcchat&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#anvapṛcchat#/i# — inquired. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# The sage Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī sat perfectly pacified, intelligent and ready to answer any question without hesitation.
