Untrained lower class of men or men without any higher ambition for protecting the sufferers cannot be placed on the seat of an administrator. Unfortunately in the age of Kali the lower class of men without any training how to protect the sufferer, would occupy the post of a ruler by strength of popular votes and instead of protecting the sufferers, such lower class of men would create a situation quite intolerable by everyone. Such rulers would illegally gratify themselves at the cost of all comforts of the citizens and thus the chaste mother earth would cry to see the pitiable condition of her sons both men and animals. That is the future of the world in the age of Kali when irreligiosity will prevail most prominently. And in the absence of a suitable king to curb down irreligious tendency of the people in general, a systematic propaganda for educating the people in general in the teachings of Srimad Bhagwatam will clear up the hazy atmosphere of corruption, bribery, blackmailing and so many other things. #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"##p class="mw-empty-elt"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_27"#TEXT 27#/span##/h4# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#śocaty aśru-kalā sādhvī#/dd# #dd#durbhagevojjhitā satī#/dd# #dd#abrahmaṇyā nṛpa-vyājāḥ#/dd# #dd#śūdrā bhokṣyanti mām iti#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #i#śocati#/i#—lamenting; #i#aśru-kalā#/i#—with tears in the eyes; #i#sādhvī#/i#—the chaste; #i#durbhagā#/i#—as if the most unfortunate; #i#iva#/i#—like; #i#ujjhitā#/i#—forlorn; #i#satī#/i#—being so done; #i#abrahmaṇyāḥ#/i#—devoid of brahminical culture; #i#nṛpa-vyājāḥ#/i#—posed as the ruler; #i#śūdrāḥ#/i#—lower class; #i#bhokṣyanti#/i#—would enjoy; #i#mām#/i#—me; #i#iti#/i#—thus. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# Now she, the chaste one, being unfortunately forsaken by the Personality of Godhead, laments her future with tears in her eyes, for now she is being ruled and enjoyed by lower-class men who pose as rulers. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="PURPORT"#PURPORT#/span##/h4# #div class="purport"# The #i#kṣatriya#/i#, or the man who is qualified to protect the sufferers, is meant to rule the state.
