Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura states that without studying #i#Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam#/i# one cannot understand the purport of the #i#Brahma-sūtra#/i# (#i#Vedānta-sūtra#/i#) or the #i#Upaniṣads#/i#. If one tries to understand #i#Vedānta#/i# philosophy and the #i#Upaniṣads#/i# without studying #i#Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam#/i#, one will be bewildered and, construing a different meaning, will gradually become an atheist or an impersonalist.
