According to pastime and personal expansion, there are various differences. #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="PURPORT"#PURPORT#/span##/h4# #div class="purport"# The Lord’s #i#vilāsa#/i# expansions are described in the following verse from the #i#Laghu-bhāgavatāmṛta#/i# (1.15): #dl##dd##i#svarūpam anyākāraṁ yat tasya bhāti vilāsataḥ#/i##/dd# #dd##i#prāyeṇātma-samaṁ śaktyā sa vilāso nigadyate#/i##/dd##/dl# “When the Lord displays numerous forms with different features by His inconceivable potency, such forms are called #i#vilāsa-vigrahas#/i#.” #$p#The Lord’s #i#svāṁśa#/i# expansions are also described in the #i#Laghu-bhāgavatāmṛta#/i# (1.17): #dl##dd##i#tādṛśo nyūna-śaktiṁ yo vyanakti svāṁśa īritaḥ#/i##/dd# #dd##i#saṅkarṣaṇādir matsyādir yathā tat-tat-svadhāmasu#/i##/dd##/dl# When a form of Kṛṣṇa is nondifferent from the original form but is less important and exhibits less potency, it is called #i#svāṁśa#/i#. Examples of #i#svāṁśa#/i# expansions can be found in the quadruple forms of the Lord residing in Their respective places, beginning with Saṅkarṣaṇa, Vāsudeva, Pradyumna and Aniruddha, and also in the #i#puruṣa-avatāras#/i#, #i#līlā-avatāras#/i#, #i#manvantara-avatāras#/i# and #i#yuga-avatāras#/i#. #/div# #/div#
