A sparrow laid her eggs on the shore of the ocean, but the big ocean carried away the eggs on its waves. The sparrow became very upset and asked the ocean to return her eggs. The ocean did not even consider her appeal. So the sparrow decided to dry up the ocean. She began to pick out the water in her small beak, and everyone laughed at her for her impossible determination. The news of her activity spread, and at last Garuḍa, the gigantic bird carrier of Lord Viṣṇu, heard it. He became compassionate toward his small sister bird, and so he came to see the sparrow. Garuḍa was very pleased by the determination of the small sparrow, and he promised to help. Thus Garuḍa at once asked the ocean to return her eggs lest he himself take up the work of the sparrow. The ocean was frightened at this, and returned the eggs. Thus the sparrow became happy by the grace of Garuḍa. #$p#Similarly, the practice of #i#yoga#/i#, especially #i#bhakti-yoga#/i# in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, may appear to be a very difficult job. But if anyone follows the principles with great determination, the Lord will surely help, for God helps those who help themselves. #/p# #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_24"#TEXT 24#/span##/h4# #div class="devanagari"# #dl##dd#स निश्चयेन योक्तव्यो योगोऽनिर्विण्णचेतसा ।#/dd# #dd#सङ्कल्पप्रभवान्कामांस्त्यक्त्वा सर्वानशेषतः ।#/dd# #dd#मनसैवेन्द्रियग्रामं विनियम्य समन्ततः ॥२४॥#/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#sa niścayena yoktavyo#/dd# #dd#yogo 'nirviṇṇa-cetasā#/dd# #dd#saṅkalpa-prabhavān kāmāṁs#/dd# #dd#tyaktvā sarvān aśeṣataḥ#/dd# #dd#manasaivendriya-grāmaṁ#/dd# #dd#viniyamya samantataḥ#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=saḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#saḥ#/i# — that; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=niścayena&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#niścayena#/i# — with firm determination; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yoktavyaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yoktavyaḥ#/i# — must be practiced; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=yogaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#yogaḥ#/i# — yoga#i# system; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=anirviṇṇa&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#anirviṇṇa-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=cetasā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#cetasā#i# — without deviation; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=saṅkalpa&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#saṅkalpa#i# — mental speculations; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=prabhavān&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#prabhavān#i# — born of; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=kāmān&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#kāmān#i# — material desires; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=tyaktvā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#tyaktvā#i# — giving up; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sarvān&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sarvān#i# — all; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=aśeṣataḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#aśeṣataḥ#i# — completely; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=manasā&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#manasā#i# — by the mind; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=eva&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#eva#i# — certainly; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=indriya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#indriya-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=grāmam&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#grāmam#i# — the full set of senses; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=viniyamya&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#viniyamya#i# — regulating; #/i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=samantataḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#samantataḥ#i# — from all sides.#/i# #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#One should engage oneself in the practice of yoga with determination and faith and not be deviated from the path.
