Those who are without knowledge of Kṛṣṇa consciousness artificially try to avoid material objects, and as a result, although they desire liberation from material bondage, they do not attain to the perfect stage of renunciation. On the other hand, a person in Kṛṣṇa consciousness knows how to use everything in the service of the Lord; therefore he does not become a victim of material consciousness. For example, for an impersonalist, the Lord, or the Absolute, being impersonal, cannot eat. Whereas an impersonalist tries to avoid good eatables, a devotee knows that Kṛṣṇa is the supreme enjoyer and that He eats all that is offered to Him in devotion. So, after offering good eatables to the Lord, the devotee takes the remnants, called #i#prasādam#/i#. Thus everything becomes spiritualized and there is no danger of a downfall. The devotee takes #i#prasādam#/i# in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, whereas the nondevotee rejects it as material. The impersonalist, therefore, cannot enjoy life due to his artificial renunciation; and for this reason, a slight agitation of the mind pulls him down again into the pool of material existence. It is said that such a soul, even though rising up to the point of liberation, falls down again due to his not having support in devotional service. #/p# #/div# #/div# please wait#div class="mw-parser-output"# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TEXT_63"#TEXT 63#/span##/h4# #div class="devanagari"# #dl##dd#क्रोधाद्भवति सम्मोहः सम्मोहात्स्मृतिविभ्रमः ।#/dd# #dd#स्मृतिभ्रंशाद् बुद्धिनाशो बुद्धिनाशात्प्रणश्यति ॥६३॥#/dd##/dl# #/div# #div class="verse"# #dl##dd#krodhād bhavati sammohaḥ#/dd# #dd#sammohāt smṛti-vibhramaḥ#/dd# #dd#smṛti-bhraṁśād buddhi-nāśo#/dd# #dd#buddhi-nāśāt praṇaśyati#/dd##/dl# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="SYNONYMS"#SYNONYMS#/span##/h4# #div class="synonyms"# #p##i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=krodhāt&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#krodhāt#/i# — from anger; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=bhavati&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#bhavati#/i# — takes place; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sammohaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sammohaḥ#/i# — perfect illusion; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=sammohāt&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#sammohāt#/i# — from illusion; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=smṛti&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#smṛti#/i# — of memory; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=vibhramaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#vibhramaḥ#/i# — bewilderment; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=smṛti&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#smṛti-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=bhraṁśāt&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#bhraṁśāt#/i# — after bewilderment of memory; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=buddhi&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#buddhi-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=nāśaḥ&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#nāśaḥ#/i# — loss of intelligence; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=buddhi&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#buddhi-#a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=nāśāt&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#nāśāt#/i# — and from loss of intelligence; #i##a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external text" href="//vanipedia.org/wiki/Special:VaniSearch?s=praṇaśyati&tab=syno_o&ds=1"#praṇaśyati#/i# — one falls down. #/p# #/div# #h4##span class="mw-headline" id="TRANSLATION"#TRANSLATION#/span##/h4# #div class="translation"# #p#From anger, complete delusion arises, and from delusion bewilderment of memory. Those who are without knowledge of Kṛṣṇa consciousness artificially try to avoid material objects, and as a result, although they desire liberation from material bondage, they do not attain to the perfect stage of renunciation.
