August 16th, 1977

From: Tamal Krishna

My dear Jayapataka Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your feet.

Enclosed please find a letter, just received, from the Additional District Magistrate, Nadia, requesting us to show cause as to why the agricultural properties listed were used for non-agricultural purposes. Please note that you have ten days from the date of receipt (we received on 16/8/77, by Registered AD) to respond.

Also enclosed please find a notarized True Copy of the Affidavit in which Srila Prabhupada clearly states that all properties in His name actually belong to the Society. As G.B.C. of Eastern India and director of Sridham Mayapur, you can therefore take up this matter.

I am sure you will appreciate the importance of this and act immediately. Srila Prabhupada wishes that you inform Him immediately regarding what happens in this matter. I hope this finds you in good health.

Your servant,

Tamal Krsna Gosvami
Secretary to Srila Prabhupada
His Holiness Jayapataka Swami
c/o ISKCON Calcutta
