June 9th, 1977

From: Tamal Krishna

My dear Goursundar Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I have been instructed by Srila Prabhupada to reply your letter dated 1st June, 1977.

Srila Prabhupada is not keeping very well. In fact His Divine Grace has come to Vrndavana and His first words to the devotees were, “I have come here to prepare for my departure.” However all of the GBC came here and everyone fervently prayed to Prabhupada to please remain with us. Prabhupada is now being treated by one brahmacari, a Gaudiya Vaisnava, who is administering frequent massages which seem to be having a positive effect upon Srila Prabhupada’s body. Prabhupada is daily going in front of Sri Krsna-Balarama every morning for darshan from 9:30 to 10.

The program as you have described it is very nice. Our process is simple and our success will be in how purely we are able to follow it. So the program that you have outlined of regulated Deity worship and studying of Srila Prabhupada’s books will automatically make you and everyone else involved Krsna conscious. Srila Prabhupada has spoken about your attempt to build a temple in Hawaii, and I am certain if you are able to do this by Krsna’s grace, it will very much please His Divine Grace.

Hoping this meets you well.

Your servant,

Tamal Krsna Gosvami

Secretary to Srila Prabhupada
