4 February, 1977

Dear Bhaktin Cheryl,

Please accept my obeisances. Srila Prabhupada has received your letter and heard it, but he has asked me, as his personal secretary, to answer on his behalf. Of course I remember you from Dallas, and I was sorry to read that you have left. You say that Radha Kalachandji have thrown you out, but rather the fact is you have chosen to leave Them. They are very mercifully and are always ready to keep a surrendered soul in Their shelter. When I was there you were doing sankirtan so faithfully and your child also seemed happy.

Anyway, it is good that you are still wanting to help Srila Prabhupada to spread Krsna Consciousness. Yes, you should preach to your mother and your friends. People are in ignorance and suffering but due to illusion they think they are happy. Having heard the truth about the soul and the soul’s loving relation to Krsna, you owe it to whoever you meet to tell them of Krsna. I don’t think you should try approaching university professors or politicians since right now you are not so fixed up. But you should preach among your friends. I would request you to pray to Krsna to give you the proper understanding to enable you to return to the temple and the association of devotees. Otherwise you run the risk of falling into bad association and going away altogether from Krsna Consciousness. Keep chanting.

Yours sincerely,

Satsvarupa das Goswami
