Dr. Ghosh: Ami Dr. Ghosh, bohudin Europe chilam. Tarpore Gurur adeshe amra jongole ekta gram sristi korechi paharer upore. Sekhane athash bochor achi. Ta apnar somosto je byapar amar jana ache. Dr. Ghosh: Kachei ekhan theke. Ami to ekhane aat din apnar jonne bose achi. (It's not very far. I am waiting here for you for eight days.)

Prabhupāda: Oh! Besh korechen. (Oh, you have done it good.)

Dr. Ghosh: (laughing) Ha ha . . . aat din, eni janen. Aat din bose achi, apnar ektu . . . amar naam ache prithibite. Ami mane Paris theke amar . . . (Ha ha . . . eight days, he knows. (Hiranmoy Ghosh Singho. We are from Jessore. Our ancestors were the kings of Jessore. All those are gone now . . . Singha, for that reason the eldest son in our family carries the title "Singha" (Lion), because we are ksatriya. But I stayed overseas for many years. I stayed in foreign countries for seventeen years. After India got independence we came back.)

Prabhupāda: Kothai chilen? (Where did you stay?)

Dr. Ghosh: Besirbhag somoi France e chilam. Ami daktari MD France theke ni ebong Vienar theke ni. Nea amar Europe e khub boro posar chilo. Jokhon desh swadhin holo, tokhon Sri Aurobindo amader guide chilen. To Jawaharlal Nehru amake deke anen. To dekhlam sob pagoler byapar. Aurobindo bollen, tumi o sober modhhe miso na. I took my MD in Medical from France and Vienna. After that I had a very good practice in Europe. When India got independence, at that time Sri Aurobindo was our guide. Jawaharlal Nehru then called me here. After coming I realized that these were all insanity. Aurobindo told us not to get involved with those people. He said that your job will be in the forest, with poor people. After searching a lot we found out a forest and stationed there for twenty eight years. Now I am seventy seven years old.)

Dr. Ghosh: Ha. (Yes.)

Prabhupāda: Onek bar approach korechilo, apni asun. I refused, na na. (They approached me many times, please come and join us. But I refused, no no.)

Dr. Ghosh: Sunun amar okhane khub Hari sankirtan hoi, aar amra Joidev, amar stri khub boro songit, khub namkora, biswo bikhyato. Ta amra sob bose achi apnar pododhulir jonne. (Listen, we perform regular Hari sankirtana there at my place and we also recite Jaydeva (a poet), my wife is a big singer, very reputed, famous all over the world. So we all are waiting there for the dust of your feet.)

Prabhupāda: Jokhon e bolben jabo. (I will go whenever you ask me to go.)

Dr. Ghosh: Ami toiri, apnake ghare, mane Honumaner moton apnake nea jete raji achhi, ek jhape. (laughter) (I am ready, like Hanuman I will carry you in my shoulder and reach there with a big leap.) (laughter))

Dr. Ghosh: Ekhan theke kache. Apni . . . apni jedin . . . sunun apnar jonne ami ekhane, eni janen dos din bose achi. Kal rattir bela apnaked dekhlam boro bhir. (It's not far from this place. Dr. Ghosh: . . . (indistinct Hindi) Amar haat khub bhalo. Onek, enara sob jane. Mane ektu seba kore gele, mane boro boro byadhi sob, amar okhane bhir hoye jai loker. Ta apnake pabo bole, ami kothao jai na. Jei sunlam je apni aschen , ami tara tari ekhane ese bose achi. Apnar kacha kachi e bose thaki. (I am, mine . . . I am expert in that. All these people knows. Means I try to serve, all chronic diseases, people gathers in great number at my place. But only to see you I came. I don't go anywhere. The moment I heard that you are coming, I came hurriedly here and was waiting for you. I remain seated near you only.)

Dr. Ghosh: E sob amar patient, era sokole amake chene. Ta ami bollam, baba amake, ekhan theke nore ami, jotokhhon na Prabhupāda aschen totokkhon. Sei jonne 29 tarikhe. Ta apni jedin jaben, oder sob bondobosto kore bolun. Sei din aponar jonne ami niche . . . (All these people are my patients, they all know me. I said to them, let me, I am not going to move anywhere till the time Prabhupāda is coming. For that reason since 29th. Apni jodi ektu pododhuli den tahole amader oi nach gan bhalo . . . (Plan peacefully and come. You know very well about all these places . . . Dr. Ghosh: Achha, patita pavana. Amra sei upokar, apni kale je bollen upokar karna. Oi tai amader mane aaj athash bochor dhore cholche. (Well, deliverer of fallen souls. You were telling about doing benevolent activity yesterday. We are doing that for twenty eight years.)

Prabhupāda: Mo-sama patita prabhu nā pāibe āra (Prārthanā 39). This is the appeal made by Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura, "My Lord, Your incarnation is for very, very fallen souls, and You'll not find anyone who is more fallen than me. Therefore my claim is first."

Dr. Ghosh: Ami jokhon gelam aj, bhasa jani na sokole jongli lok. Ora abar, British ra bolche tribe, criminal tribe era. Karon ora goru toru uthie nea jai, dekhche badorer moto fol dekhle jhulche khai. Oder okhane gele, amar athash bochor. Amar pach ta school ache. High school ekhon ekta. Oder mane employment er boddo kosto. Sejonne khete khute okhane ekta . . . (When I first went there, I didn't know their language, all were forest dwellers. Britishers told that these tribe, they are criminally inclined. They used to steal cows etc. and if they saw some fruits hanging in the tree, they will eat it. In that tribal's place I am staying for twenty eight years. I have five schools there. High school is only one now. Getting employment from them is very difficult. That's why after hard work, there one . . .)

Prabhupāda: Na na, okhane te sob jaiga royeche, ora sob . . . (No no, there are enough place available, they all . . .)

Dr. Ghosh: Jaiga to ami kinichi aste aste. (Gradually I have purchased land there.)

Prabhupāda: Ami bolchi, sekhane sob nijeder kheti, nijeder kapor, nijeder . . . (What I want to mean, there they can have their own agricultural activities, own clothes, own . . .)

Dr. Ghosh: Sob, tai to bolchi, apni ekbar padadhuli din, apnake dekhabo. (Everything. That's what I am saying, you just come once, I will show you.)

Prabhupāda: Ha? (Yes?)

Dr. Ghosh: Apni obak, apnar khub anondo hobe. Apni jeta korte bolchen amra seta korchi. (You will be astonished, you will become joyful. What you are telling to do, we are already doing that.)

Prabhupāda: Besh. (Very nice.)

Dr. Ghosh: Apni ekbar ese jan. Amader ekhane pododhuli din. Amra boddo gorib. Apnake nebar moton shokti amader nei. Ta holeo amra ghare kore apnake nea jabo. (You just come once. You put the dust of your feet there. We are very poor. We don't have enough capacity to take you. Still we will carry you on our shoulder and take you there.)

Prabhupāda: Jar Bhogoban sohai ache se abar gorib kothai. (Whom Lord is favouring how can he be poor.)

Dr. Ghosh: Ta to ache. Ta na hole apnar songe dekha hoto na. Ami morbar age, ek e , bollam je amake Bhakti . . . Prabhupādaer songe ekbar dekha korie dao. Kal ratti bela, sara din apnar chinta, sondhe bela chinta. Ekhane ese dekhlam. Eikhanei bose achi, oke jiggesh korun. Ami eikhanei bose achi. Apnake ektu seba korbo, ei amar sokh. Sei jonne bhalo tel thel baby oil sob rekhechi. Apnake ektukhani mane changa . . . dekhun amar shokti jothesto ache, apnar theke. Keno apnar kotha ami dekhun dosh bochor dhore moner moddhe ache. Apni ja ja korchen, somosto tarikh by tarikh apnar somosto bole debo. Amar tin jon ache jara apnar somosto boi, amar okhane tin copy kore ase. Amader librery ta khub boro hoye gachhe, okhane mane, apni okhane ese ekbar amader ektu upodesh din. (They know everything, how I revived them. All people here knows me. I told them Prabhupāda will come, they all come to my place. So I told them Prabhupāda will come, I will go there and wait for him. See for ten years I was thinking about you. Whatever you are doing, I can tell you date by date all the events. We have three persons who reads all your books. Three copies of all your books comes to my place. Our library has become very big. You please come there and give us some advice.)

Dr. Ghosh: Jongoler moddhe ele dekhun jongoler mongol hoye jabe. (You come to the forest and see that there will be auspiciousness in the forest.)

Prabhupāda: Aar apnar, sune ja ekhon bujhechi . . . (So your, what I have understood by hearing from you . . .)

Dr. Ghosh: Are, apni obak, apni gea dekhen jodi. Tar moddhe jodi apni Bhagobot sonen aar amader somosto Joydev songskrito, apnar khub anondo hobe. Apnar ekhane ache songskrito, recording tape ta ana hoi ni. To apni okhane cholun, apnake sara din amra nachie debo. Apni dekhbo, amader nach e dekhben sudhu. Amader okhane dance school royechhe.Chaitanya Mohaprabhu e to prothome dance arombho koran. Chaitanya Mohaprabhur age keu dance koran ni. (You will become amazed, If you go there and see. Moreover if you hear Bhāgavatam there and all our Jayadev's sangskrit, you will be very pleased. We have Sanskrit here, but the recording tape I couldn't bring. You simply go there, we will make you dance the whole day. You will see, you will see our dance only. We have a dance school there. It was Caitanya Mahāprabhu who first inaugurated the dancing. (indistinct) . . . so at that time she came from Germany. She is not a German, she is Indian. Actually Indian government sent her to Germany, to teach dancing, what we call here Bharat natyam. After returning she came to my place. She said that she will not let me stay alone as I didn't have functional hands and legs. Then she took care of me and made me fit. I am to work for whole day, for poor people. We began with hundred and twenty three people in 1948. Now we are more than ten thousand people, five schools are there. She has one of her own school, there are fifty five student's in her school. All are foreigner. So in our life we are to remain busy with heavy workload.)

In my place everyone, even Indira Gandhi, I don't go to anybody's place, they come to me. Because on bone, we say ostio pack. Bone, muscle, all these and the nerves, I do rejuvenate them. As a result you will see, your blood pressure etc. all will be cured.)

(We are not into machines. Still you see without power the wheels don't move. In that case power station, we are to make our own power station then. Good if you see, we do it by using cow dung.)

Dr. Ghosh: Ha? Gobor deai kori. Cow dung gas fas sob royeche . . . (indistinct) . . . aste aste. Emon kichu ekta birat byapar noi. Houar upai o nei. (What? We do it by cow dung. Were there is the manifestation of God, you will see many people sacrificing there to keep him alive.)

Dr. Ghosh: Edike amar kan bhoyanok kala, tobuo apnar sob kotha ami sunchi. (Just see my ear is almost deaf and still I am able to hear all your words.)

Prabhupāda: Mane jini Go ke palon koren. Tar parshod. Bhogobaner goru houa, o parshod chara hote pare na. Ei je Bhogoban emni kore alingon korche, e sadharon bachur? Do you think they are ordinary calves? (Means who maintains the cows. His associates. To become a cow of the Lord, without being an associate it's not possible. Here see how Lord is embracing, is it an ordinary calf? Do you think they are ordinary calves?)

Mahāṁśa: To be embraced by Kṛṣṇa.

Prabhupāda: They are associates. They are associating with Lord as calf, as cow. Ānanda-cinmaya-rasa-pratibhāvitābhis tābhir ya eva nija-rūpatayā kalābhiḥ (BS 5.37). Nija-rūpa.

Dr. Ghosh: Amar nijer rup dekheo bolben, Janama abadhi hamo rupo niharenu nayana na tiropito. Ei je ruper ekta khela cholche, lakho lakho yuga . . . (indistinct) . . . nu, tobu hiye juralu nayanu. Ei dekhun apnake dekhchi, aar kono dekhbar nei amar. Sob pash. Amra sob durer theke , kacher theke sob pash. Jonom jonom dhore dekhchi. (You are saying to see my own form, since birth I am seeing different forms but still my eyes are not satiated. That this game of form is going on, for millions of years . . . Prabhupāda: In Vṛndāvana, the calves, the cows, the trees, the land, the water—everyone, ānanda-cinmaya-rasa-pratibhāvitābhiḥ. That is expansion of Kṛṣṇa's spiritual energy. Cit-śakti. There are three energies: spiritual, material and marginal. So Vṛndāvana affairs means expansion of Kṛṣṇa's spiritual energy. Ānanda-cinmaya-rasa. Sac-cid-ānanda. Ānanda-cinmaya-rasa. Rasa, mellow. Everyone is trying to relish some mellow. Here in this material world we get family to taste some mellows. One kind of mellow is wife, one kind of mellow are children, one kind of mellow is the servants, one kind of mellow is the friends, one kind of mellow is the properties. They are all mellows, rasa. Unless there is some taste, why one should be hankering after all these things? Why one is hankering after some woman or some man or some friends or for children? One who has got no children, he's hankering after some child. He's expecting, "When I shall get a child?" The rasa. There is husband-wife rasa, but there is no rasa of the child. Therefore they are praying, "When we shall get a child?" So there is another rasa. So raso vai saḥ. He is the reservoir of rasas. So if we derive all the rasas from the Supreme, because He is the reservoir of rasas . . .

Mahāṁśa: Akhila-rasāmṛta-sindhu.

Prabhupāda: Akhila-rasāmṛta, yes. Akhila-rasāmṛta-sindhu. So you can have all the rasas, and that is the origin of bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu. In bhakti, that rasa, you become in the ocean of rasa. You're hankering after rasa. There is a Vedic injunction, raso vai saḥ labdhvānandi ānandī. One who has got the rasa, labdhvānandi, then he gets the real ānanda. That ānanda-cinmaya-rasa expansion is Kṛṣṇa's calves, cows, gopī friends, cowherd boy friends, Nanda, Yaśodāmāyi, so many. So to be Kṛṣṇa conscious means to participate with these rasas. It is not dry. It is not dry, like, simply so 'ham, so'ham, finished. So 'ham, they do not know the meaning. So 'ham means I belong to the same rasa. I also eligible to enjoy the same rasa. But Kṛṣṇa is . . . (break) . . . and the calves, the cows are enjoying the rasa as predominated. Just like husband and wife, they are enjoying, both. But one is enjoying as the husband, predominator. The husband is forcefully dragging the wife. She's also . . . while she is dragged by force, she enjoys. That is another rasa. But there is rasa. Combined together it becomes rasa. Similarly, Kṛṣṇa does not enjoy this material. This material rasa is the perverted reflection of that cinmaya-rasa. So we have to get ourselves nil of all these material rasas, and we have to be situated in the cinmaya. Then our . . . ānandamayo 'bhyāsāt (Vedānta-sūtra 1.1.12). Then our life is perfect. This is Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Rasa is there. Here perverted reflection. The perverted reflection . . . my Guru Mahārāja used to say to taste milk in white, what is called, lime water. White lime water, it looks like milk. But it is not milk. It is different thing. Similarly, we are trying to taste the rasa of milk in lime water. Therefore we are baffled.

Dr. Ghosh: That is true. Whole universe is rasa. Even in Mars they're trying to find humidity. What is humidity, rasa. Everything is moving on the rasa only. We are floating on rasa.

Prabhupāda: Our aim of understanding this Kṛṣṇa consciousness, it is not a sentiment. It is a great science, great science. Otherwise how we are writing so many books? If it was a dry . . .

Dr. Ghosh: Nothing happens in dryness.

Prabhupāda: Why people are accepting our books? You'll be surprised, we are selling book to the extent of six lakhs of rupees per day. Daily. Daily we are selling six lakhs of rupees' worth all over the world. So people think philosophy, religion, dry subject matter. If it was dry subject matter, how they could purchase so many books? It is ānanda-cinmaya-rasa. They are getting for the first time, here is real ānanda. Therefore they are appreciating. Everyone, learned circle, they are giving appreciation. In . . . (indistinct) . . . foreign circles. So, there was no such literature. It is the first time. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam amalaṁ purāṇaṁ vaiṣṇavānām . . . (SB 12.13.18). So unless they're really relishing some rasa, how they are purchasing? This is the first distribution of ānanda-cinmaya-rasa throughout the whole world, this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. So I am very happy that you are also very . . . (indistinct) . . . let us join together, we shall raise . . .

Dr. Ghosh: We can consult and fix a date, what suits Prabhupāda best, then I will arrange for the rest at that end.

Mahāṁśa: When are you leaving Hyderabad?

Dr. Ghosh: I'm leaving just after . . . you see, I was leaving long ago, but he was coming. So I will leave 19th morning plane. That is the day after the Janmāṣṭamī tomorrow. (Kodaikanal, supposedly it's the best place in the whole world, climatologically. I wish that whatever I have I will give those unto your possession, what these people are working here in such hot environment, they can visit there sometime to recharge.) Because they are recharging the battery of the urban line. But they also will be recharging that battery in a nice cosmic place. And that . . .

Prabhupāda: Amader je rasa, our rasa, it can be tasted by the topmost intellectual man. (The rasa that we have, our rasa, it can be tasted by the topmost intellectual man.)

Dr. Ghosh: Of course.

Prabhupāda: And it can be tasted by the lowest . . .

Dr. Ghosh: No intellect at all. I know that.

Prabhupāda: But why? Because this intellect, highest or lowest, that is in relationship with the body. But it is beyond the body. It is not . . . sa guṇān samatītyaitān brahma-bhūyāya (BG 14.26). It is beyond the three guṇas. The body is of the material guṇas—sattva, rajas, tamas. One man is good man, one man is passionate, one is foolish. Guṇa. Kāraṇaṁ guṇa-saṅgo'sya. Puruṣaḥ prakṛti-stho hi bhunjante guṇān (BG 13.22)? (aside) Find out this. Puruṣaḥ prakṛti-stho hi bhunjante . . . beginning with puruṣaḥ. Everything is explained, Bhagavad-gītā.

Dr. Ghosh: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is matchless. We are reading and re-reading, and every time we find much more, you see? Terrific. And you have put the simplest method—"As it is," as you say. Why complicate, tika this . . . that is why . . . you know, we can be safely called intellectuals. But, you know, we are tired of it.

Prabhupāda: Yes.

Dr. Ghosh: Tired. We cannot find anything. Neti neti vicāra te patra patra (sangskrit) . . . impossible. Then what do you get out of the life? The joy, rasa, apni je bollen, (The joy which you just have mentioned), that is the main substance. To get it you cannot get neti neti, Mohaprabhur ja hoyechilo . . . (indistinct) . . . (To get it you cannot get neti neti, what Mohaprabhu experienced . . . (indistinct) . . .)

Prabhupāda: Puruṣaḥ prakṛti-stho hi (BG 13.22). (aside) Find out. Puruṣaḥ. Why you cannot find this verse? What you are . . .

Mahāṁśa: Puruṣaḥ prakṛti, bhuñjante . . .

Prabhupāda: Tad guṇān. Puruṣaḥ prakṛti-stho hi. You did not find?

Dr. Ghosh: Eta apnar Bhāgavatam series na tinte volume? (Is this your Bhāgavatam series or just three volume?)

Prabhupāda: Caitanya-caritāmṛta. Seventeen volumes. Seventeen.

puruṣaḥ prakṛti-stho hi

Prabhupāda: Puruṣa, the living entity, he is now within the material energy. Prakṛti-sthaḥ. Puruṣaḥ prakṛti-stho . . .

Mahāṁśa: Bhuṅkte prakṛti-jān guṇān.

Prabhupāda: On account of his being in touch with the material energy, he has to suffer or enjoy the modes of material nature. Modes of material nature, and because, just like in your medical science one is suffering from a certain type of disease on account of his being infected by the similar virus or . . . what is called?

Mahāṁśa: Virus.

Prabhupāda: Ha?

Mahāṁśa: Virus.

Prabhupāda: Virus.

Dr. Ghosh: Virus. Animate in, apnader theory ami porechi. (Virus. Animate in, I have read your theory.) Now we know even the inanimate is animate, but by virology only it is changing. All the unanimate subject is slowly being transformed into animate. We are all convinced the whole process is the same. It's a terrific science now, virology. Latest, we have discovered. I am also working on virology quite a bit for all the virus disease and all. And we can eliminate them by only vacuum. My whole cure, they call it miracle and all this nonsense, it is only creating a vacuum which automatically takes away.

Prabhupāda: This virology will be complete . . .

Dr. Ghosh: When we accept this.

Prabhupāda: . . . when you accept this.

Dr. Ghosh: I know. (laughs) And I have accepted long ago. Because I felt, as a sincere worker, medicine doesn't interest me. What interests me is the cure. My profession is to cure, not to study the medicines. That is the cure.

Prabhupāda: Here it is very clearly stated that kāraṇaṁ guṇa-saṅgo 'sya (BG 13.22). The virology, infection, kāraṇam, that is the kāraṇam. Kāraṇam guṇa-saṅgo 'sya sad-asad-janma-yoniṣu. Why there are varieties of life? One is very intelligent . . .

Dr. Ghosh: You know also in Vedic sangit, Tamasa bahurupena bestitaha karma hetu na . . . (indistinct) . . . sukha dukhha samanwita (Sanskrit).

Prabhupāda: Same thing.

Dr. Ghosh: Same thing, no? Everything has light. Only it is in transformation by that formula, it is inanimate to animate. That is what is happening all around us.

Prabhupāda: So, if from . . . just like medical science . . . it is also a medical science. Bhavauṣadhi. It is . . . auṣadhi means medical science. This is bhavauṣadhi. By this treatment one becomes relieved from the material disease. Bhavauṣadhi. Bhavauṣadhāc chrotra-mano-'bhirāmāt. But the medicine is so nice that it is pleasing to the ear and to the heart. The medicine pleasing to the ear? What is that.

Mahāṁśa: Hari-nāma.

Prabhupāda: Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa.

Prabhupāda: Iske bina to kuch janna nahi hai. (I don't know anything else than this.)

Indian man (2): Ji Maharaj? (Yes Mahārāja?)

Prabhupāda:

bhagavad-bhakti-hīnasya
jātiḥ śāstraṁ japas tapaḥ
aprāṇasyeva dehasya
maṇḍanaṁ loka-rañjanam
(Hari-bhakti-sudhodaya 3.11)

Without bhagavad-bhakti, this so-called advancement of civilization is simply decorating the dead body.

Indian man (2): Correct. Cent percent correct.

Prabhupāda: What is the use of decorating the dead body?

Indian man (2): Correct. Yes. We must decorate real . . .

Prabhupāda: And this body is . . . either dead or alive, Bhagavad-gītā condemns: gatāsūn agatāsūṁś ca nānuśocanti paṇḍitāḥ (BG 2.11). So these rascals are interested with this body, and they're proud of their advancement of education. And Bhagavad-gītā says nānuśocanti paṇḍitāḥ. So they are passing as great scientists, philosophers, politicians, philanthropists, but all apaṇḍitāḥ. Nānuśocanti paṇḍitāḥ. That means apaṇḍita.

Indian man (3): Apnar doya na hole ki kore hobe mosai? (Unless your mercy is there how can it be?)

Prabhupāda: Ami to doya korbar jonne to sara duniya ghure berachi. (I am travelling all over the world to give mercy.)

Indian man (3): Ei to bolchi dhonnobad dilum apnake, khub beshi. (That's what I am saying, I am thanking you for that, a lot of thanks.) (laughter)

Prabhupāda: And the first thing of Bhagavad-gītā lesson is that aśocyān anvaśocas tvaṁ prajñā-vādān (BG 2.11): "You are talking like a learned man, but you are rascal." Apaṇḍitaḥ. One who is not educated, he's a rascal. So He's indirectly saying: "This kind of lamentation is not for the paṇḍita. It is for the rascal." So whole world is interested with this body, and Bhagavad-gītā's teaching begins condemning the concept of body. Gatāsūn agatāsūṁś ca nānuśocanti paṇḍitāḥ. Dehino 'smin yathā dehe kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā tathā dehāntara-prāptiḥ (BG 2.13). Nobody knows this. And they are very learned scholars in Bhagavad-gītā.

Indian man (3): Ha ha, apnar doya holei to learned bola jai, nahole ki kore bola jai? (When you shower your mercy then one can become learned, otherwise how can one be said as learned?)

Prabhupāda: All these rascals, they're claiming to be learned scholar of Bhagavad-gītā.

Indian man (2): Anyhow, humlog, We are lucky souls, that we are surrendered souls. (Anyhow, we, we are lucky souls, that we are surrendered souls.)

Prabhupāda: Ha, humko sab miljhul karke, ye jo andolon hai isko achhi tara se samhalna. (Yes, we all will come together and this movement that is going on, we have to maintain it nicely.)

Indian man (2): Correct.

Prabhupāda: Yeh to akele . . . (I am alone . . .)

Indian man (2): Nahi nahi Bhagwan ka ichha hai , sab ka duty hai . . . (No no, It's the Lord's will, all of us have responsibility . . .)

Prabhupāda: Whatever is done, it is by single man's effort. If all our actually leaders, they take up, then India will be glorified. They'll feel . . . yes, they're expecting. Outside India, people, they expect that there is something better knowledge in India. Therefore as soon as some svāmīs or yogī goes there, they come. But they cheat.

Indian man (2): Many have come to cheat.

Prabhupāda: These rascals, I shall say that, sir, they do not know anything, and they go there for teaching yoga. And they are bogus.

Indian man (2): Bogus, bogus. So many bogus people are going.

Prabhupāda: They do not know what is yoga.

Indian man (2): They do not know what is what. What that is truth. They don't know.

Prabhupāda: And they get cheap money and women and that's all. That is their business.

Indian man (2): Aap Bharat ko ashirbad kariye. Iha Bhagabat dharma, Sanatan dharma ka prachar khub beshi hoye. (You shower your blessings upon India. Let the Bhagavad dharma, Sanatan dharma be spread extensively here.)

Prabhupāda: Aap log sab . . . (indistinct) . . . join kijiye, dekhye na abhi Bharat ka chehara badal jayega. (You all . . . (indistinct) . . . you join this movement, just see the face of India will change.)

Indian man (2): Badal jaye to achhi bat hai. Abhi to . . . (If it get's changed then it will be very good. But now . . .)

Prabhupāda: Jaroor jayega. (Surely it will change.)

Prabhupāda: Kyun ki Bharat abhi bhoola nahi. (Because India still haven't forgotten.)

Prabhupāda: Yeh jabardasti isko bhulaya ja raha hai. (Now people are made to forget forcibly.)

Indian man (2): Haan, Bhagwan ka bhumi hai. Yeh to politician log ghuma rahe hai isko. (laughs) Bhagwan ka bhumi hai ye. (Yes, this is the land of the Lord. Only these politician's are making things distorted. (laughs) This is the land of the Lord.)

Prabhupāda: To ab ek. . . (indistinct) . . . karke Hari kirtna kijiye. Gao gao me. (So you do one thing . . . (indistinct) . . . perform Hari kirtana. Village to village.)

Indian man (2): Apne paas bhi Thakur bari hai, swami Yashonand dekha hai . . . (indistinct) . . . kuch dharam hai. (At my place also there is a temple, Swami Yashonand have seen . . . (indistinct) . . . we are also religious.)

Gurukṛpā: He has a temple. The whole third floor of his house is a temple. He has Sītā-Rāma, Kṛṣṇa, Gopāla. He has big temple. They have saṅkīrtana every night. Every morning and night.

Indian man (2): Hamare Guruji to Vrindaban ke, aap jante hai. Rang Ji ke bari bagiche me rehte the. Jagad Guru swami Raghunath acharya. Aap to jante hai, Vrindaban gaye hai aap bhi. (My guru is from Vṛndāvana, you might be knowing. He stays in the big garden of Rang Ji. His name is Jagad Guru Swami Raghunath Acarya.)

Prabhupāda: Mai to Vrindaban me hi raha. Abhi Radharani humko bhagaya. (I was staying in Vṛndāvana only. Then Radharani made me run.)

Indian man (2): Bhaga diya! Radharani ka prachar karna hai to bhagayega ji. (Oh she made you run! Of course Radharani will make you run to preach about her.) (laughter)

Prabhupāda: Ho giya. (Now it's done.)

Indian man (2): Bhag giya tab hi to achha hua. Aab to lakho ka uddhar hoga, lakho ka. Uha baithe rehte tab to lakho ka nahi hota. Yaha to lakho ka uddhar hoga. Sare dunia ka ho raha hai. (You ran away then only such a good thing have happened. Now millions will be saved, millions. Had you been sitting there then millions could not have been saved. Now millions will be saved. It's happening all over the world.)

Prabhupāda: Isiliye to, uo Radharani bhaga bhi deta hai. (That's why I am saying, sometime Radharani can make you run also.)

Indian man (2): Bilkul bilkul. Mahatma ka shrap bhi asirvad hota hai. Radharani to prem hai. Uo to Ma hai. Ma to bete ko achha ke liye bhejta hai. Bahut sundar karya ho raha hai. Humko to bahut santosh hai, bara anand hai. (Of course, of course. The curse of a saintly person is actually a blessing. Radharani is love. She is the mother. For the benefit of the son, the mother sends her son away. Now such wonderful activities are going on. I am highly satisfied, very happy.)

Gurukṛpā: That Raṅganātha temple is that temple where they do not allow us in. So Sampat Kumar and all of these paṇḍitas, they will sign one letter trying to request them, also with the Purī people, to request them to let us in. While they are all here they will do that. Also Sampat Kumar was thinking that in November and December in South India the weather is nice because the rainy season is finished, and it would be a very good time to go and visit many of the temples. He personally knows many people in all the big temples: Shri Rangam, Kañcipuram, Mahabalipuram, Tirupati. They could arrange for receptions and programs.

Prabhupāda: Hum abhi tak Bharat varsh ka divya bhumi ka dekha nahi. Hum ghar chor kar ke Vrindavan me ake baith gaya. Fir Vrindavan se Amerika chala gaya. (Until now I haven't totally seen the divine land of Bhārata-varṣa. After leaving home I went to Vṛndāvana and was sitting there. Then from Vṛndāvana I went to America.)

Indian man (2): Amerika chala gaya. (He went to America.)

Worship and service will happen, bhoga offering will be done, distribute prasada to all. Then you see what happens. Prabhupāda: In India, Bhārata-bhūmi jaha hari-kīrtana sunega, (In India, land of Bharata, whenever people will here hari kirtana,) thousands will come. That is India. You won't have to advertise that,

Indian man (2): No, rom rom me hai. (No, it's in every pore.)

Prabhupāda: "There is hari-kīrtana. Come." No. As soon as you begin, immediately thousands. As soon as there will be sugar grain, immediately ants will come.

Indian man (2): Ants will come.

Prabhupāda: It is like that. This is a fact.

Indian man (3): Correct, correct. Hundred per cent correct. Bas jaha mridang baja sab log aa jayenge kirtan karte. (As soon as the sound of mrdanga will be heard, all the people will come to take part in kirtana.)

Prabhupāda: Ye jo Bharat bhumi me janma hota hai. (When one takes birth in the land of Bharata.)

Indian man (2): Bilkul. (Very true.)

Prabhupāda: Ye Bhagawat me hai aap to jante hai, Debta log prarthana karte ki kuch humara punna agar rahe geya to humko Bharat me janme. (This is in Bhagavat, you might be knowing, demigods are praying that if we have some pious credit left then let us take birth in the land of Bharata.)

Indian man (2): Bharat me janma de. Bharat ke to rom rom me Bhagwan hai, usme keya. (Let us take birth in Bharata. In every particle of Bharata, God consciousness is there—there's nothing strange in it.)

Indian man (3): Harer nāma harer nāma harer nāmaiva kevalam kalau nāsty eva nāsty eva nāsty eva gatir anyathā.

Prabhupāda: Iska bandobast kijiye. (Please make arrangements for this.) Immediately. Just get one dozen good—I mean, good or bad, it doesn't matter—who is ready to work for this purpose. Prabhupāda: One thing is that their difficulty is language. Indians are there, they can speak on the local language.

Indian man (2): Swamiji Bhagwan ki seba ke liye to hum log aye hai chinta nahi. (Swamiji, we have come for the service of the Lord, you please don't worry.)

Indian man (2): Swamiji to sabka leader hai. (Swamiji will be the leader for all.)
